Samsung rolls out September 2022 security update for Galaxy A53 in US

Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy A53 5G in the US. The update is rolling out to carrier-locked and unlocked versions of the smartphone. The international variant of this smartphone has yet to receive an update, which is odd because it’s usually the other way around.

New software update for carrier locked version Galaxy A53 5G loading firmware version A536USQU3AVH1. Unlocked versions of phones get the same updates as firmware versions A536U1UES4AVH4. The update is rolling out on all carrier networks in the US, including AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Comcast, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile.

The September 2022 security patch fixes more than two dozen privacy and security vulnerabilities. Updates may also include general bug fixes and device stability improvements. If you are a Galaxy A53 user in the US, you can install the new update by heading to Arrangement » Software update and knock Download and install. You can also download new firmware files from our firmware database and flash them manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A53 5G alongside the Galaxy A33 5G and Galaxy A73 5G earlier this year. All three phones debuted with Android 12 out of the box and are promised to get four major Android OS updates and security updates for up to five years.
