One UI 5.0 update can bring a handy battery widget to Samsung phones and tablets

While Samsung has released four beta versions of One UI 5.0 based on Android 13 for the Galaxy S22 series, not all of the new features have been revealed. During the SDC 2022 event, Samsung revealed several features for the first time, including Bixby Text Call and Galaxy Quick Pair. Now, one more feature is visible that hasn’t reached the One UI 5.0 beta yet.

During the keynote event, Samsung displayed various One UI 5.0 widgets on the screen. Among those widgets is the battery widget which is not yet seen on a Galaxy smartphone or tablet. As you can see in the image below, the widget displays the current battery charge level of the smartphone as well as connected accessories, including the S Pen, smartwatch, and wireless earbuds.

There appear to be two versions of the widget: 4×1 and 4×2. Currently, if you want to check the battery level of your wireless earbuds or smartwatch, you need to open the Galaxy Wearable app or use a separate widget associated with a specific earbud set. However, with the new battery widget, you can check the battery charge level of all connected devices with your phone at a glance.

Similar widgets have been around on Apple’s iOS and iPadOS platforms for a few years now, and we’re excited that Samsung is bringing them to One UI.
