Huawei shows smartwatch with blood pressure measurement (+ video)

With the Huawei Watch D, Huawei had a special kind of smartwatch with it at IFA 2022. This focuses on important vital signs and can even measure blood pressure.

I was amazed when Huawei presented its Watch D at the IFA 2022 in Berlin. This is a smartwatch with which the user can measure several important vital signs. This makes it possible to create a medically certified electrocardiogram (ECG) to record the heart rhythm and the electrical activity of the heart.

A highlight for me was that you can also measure blood pressure here, because thanks to the integrated pump, the Huawei Watch D works like a blood pressure monitor. You only have to adjust the bracelet to your own wrist first and then the bracelet inflates at the push of a button, like a conventional blood pressure monitor. After a few seconds you have the result. My blood pressure was apparently just a little higher, which was certainly due to the stress at the trade fair.

The smartwatch is not only suitable for ECG and blood pressure measurements, but basically a normal smartwatch which can of course also be used for fitness tracking and also has all the other functions of a normal Huawei smartwatch. The Watch D should have a battery life of around seven days (including six ECG and blood pressure measurements).

Huawei also announced at IFA that Huawei wearables are now fully compatible with Strava, the popular fitness and sports app.
